We give The University of Texas at Austin: McCombs School of Business a bigger and better presence with our new branding, website redesigns, and marketing work.

“Ray and Lina stepped in and immediately became our brand, strategy, creative and design partners. Good World Media was a key player enabling the McCombs digital team to drive our school’s administration into establishing a contemporary, responsive digital presence that will strengthen the McCombs brand.”

Dan Manco (Digital Strategist/Web Services, McCombs School of Business)

“I worked with Good World Media on the redesign of the website for The University of Texas MSTC Program. They were amazing partners throughout the process – quick to respond, intuitive, and friendly. Perhaps most importantly, Good World Media presented us with so many great design options from which to choose. Now that the redesign is complete, I am still amazed by what they were able to do. Love our new site. Loved working with Good World Media. Would gladly do so again!”

Objective

Services:  Strategy, User Interface, UX/Wireframing, Website

Since 2012, we have worked McComb’s School of Business (at the University of Texas at Austin) as a design and development partner. Throughout this close relationship, we’ve redesigned their entire online experience by creating and executing contemporary, responsive websites for their entire academic roster of programs. From the main site, to individual programs, student apps, and even print and promotional work, we’ve helped McCombs redefine their visual look and user experience over the years, and continue to support them into the future.

Stage 1: Discovery

Our work with McCombs originally begin with a redesign of their MSTC program site, which had become closely with the MSTC program to plan, design, and support the implementation their new website. We began by evaluating their current site, their aspirations and overall goals, current educational competitors, and industry trends. We worked with the client to decide on a direction for site photography, weighing in on how best to shoot potential alumni and case study subjects. We also helped to inform UX by creating wireframes, establishing the navigation, and organizing content, ensuring an intuitive and compelling user experience.

Stage 2: Empower

Upon approval of our wireframes, we began our visual design process, seeking to modernize this iteration of the MSTC site while still adhering to UT’s web usability standards and brand requirements. We chose typefaces, color palettes, photos and affordances carefully, creating an aesthetically pleasing and functionally sound within these limitations. Through our initial homepage designs, templates for expanded content, and responsive design across other platforms, we consistently impressed the McComb’s team with our experience and adherence to their wishes and goals. Finally, our approved design files were prepped for MSTC’s in-house development team, who handled the development work with our input and guidance.

Stage 3 – Engage

The launch of the MSTC site was a great success for the program. Not only was it the first responsive site ever for the University, it was also such a radical departure from the current designs that many of the other schools at U of T were inspired by it.  Aside from the aesthetic considerations, the site exists as an easily expandable platform that will allow for more case studies and continued content growth over time.
